Your Deadline is Approaching

A move to the cloud is the next inevitable step for any organisation using TechnologyOne, as support for on-premise systems will cease at the end of September 2024*.

TechnologyOne will provide critical ‘Priority 1’ support only for on-premise customers from 1 October 2023, and no support at all from 1 October 2024*.

It can be difficult to know where to start. That's why we've created a guide to help you successfully navigate your migration to the TechnologyOne cloud.

Are you feeling overwhelmed or confused by the TechnologyOne cloud migration process? Don't worry, you're not alone. Migrating to the cloud can be a complex process, and there are many potential pitfalls that can arise.

Through conversations with clients, we’ve found there is confusion around what is and isn’t covered when migrating from on-premise to the TechnologyOne cloud-based SaaS solution.

In a recent survey we conducted with TechnologyOne users, it was reported that less than 50% of respondents were fully established in the cloud, and of those who were not, 35% were still using full on-premise technology.^

To have a successful transition to the TechnologyOne cloud with minimal disruption to business operations, we strongly recommend organisations adopt a structured step-by-step approach to the migration to reduce risk.

Our guide will help you identify and avoid common migration pitfalls, so that you can ensure a smooth transition to the cloud. Before you start, and definitely complete, your cloud migration journey, it's important to ask the right questions. Our guide will help you ask the big questions so that you can build a business case and budget that meets your organisation's needs.

Don’t let us alarm you - once you are armed with the right questions to ask and the best approach to take, you can move to the TechnologyOne cloud with confidence.

“It’s critical to the success of a cloud transition project that you are fully informed before commencing the journey. No surprises will mean no roadblocks along the way.”

Maximise Your Cloud Migration ROI

We recommend conducting a comprehensive review of all existing implementations and configurations that have been made to the current on-premise environment. This will uncover areas for improvement to optimise investment, increase productivity and efficiency, and usability of your ERP systems.

The review report forms the business case for executives to further understand the scope of the cloud migration product, its capability, potential benefits, and how to best prioritise the transition and improvement opportunities.

Will Your Third-Party Interfaces and Integrations Survive?

A move from TechnologyOne on-premise to TechnologyOne cloud is typically a ‘lift-and-shift’ of what you are running locally.

You back up your on-premise TechnologyOne system and give it to TechnologyOne, who then set it up in the cloud. This may be simple, if you don’t have any third-party interfaces or integrations - which are likely not to survive a simple lift-and-shift.

The Lánluas Cloud Migration Model

Time is now limited to achieve a successful migration and receive continued vendor support for business-critical applications.

We developed a 4-quadrant model to assist TechnologyOne users in making informed decisions about resourcing, time, cost and overall approach to cloud migration.

Depending on whether you are on Ci or CiA, there are several combinations available to move to the cloud. The best way depends on your internal resourcing availability. It can also be subject to when the cloud environments are made available by TechnologyOne.

In our experience, key drivers for decision-making on cloud migration are time and cost. As always, cost management and value for money are important.
